The 200-acre campus of Hillsdale College is located in the city of Hillsdale (population 8300) in southern Michigan. The area is rural in character and its lakes, rivers and nature areas offer plenty to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Grewcock Student Union, a 53,000-square-foot facility opened in January of 2008 is the major hub of student activity on campus.The cities of Toledo and Detroit and the huge college towns of East Lansing and Ann Arbor are all within a 90-minute drive.   The College offers a shuttle service from Detroit and Toledo airports.

Conservative in outlook, Hillsdale College has bright and hard-working students as well as caring professors. The core requirements include two courses in the Great Books and one about the U.S. Constitution. Hillsdale is popularly known for its refusal to accept federal funds, stating that “our country's greatness is the result not of government benevolence but rather of individual initiative and enterprise.” The College is generous with merit and need based aid. Greek life: 25% of the men and 45% of the woman. Freshmen and sophomores must live on-campus.  Housing guaranteed for all four years.
